Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 22, 2026 Last updated: August 22, 2026

Everything you enter in EZ Budget stays on your device. There's no account, no analytics, and no advertising. The only outside data the app can touch is your device's location - and only to tag a transaction with where it happened, only for a few seconds, and only if you leave that feature turned on.

01 Overview

This policy explains how EZ Budget ("the app") handles information. The app was built to work entirely on your device: there's no sign-in, no server that stores your transactions, and no way for us to see how you use it.

02 Information we collect

EZ Budget does not collect account information, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, contacts, or photos. It does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting software of any kind.

The information the app works with is limited to:

03 Where your data lives

Your transactions, the categories you create, your budget, settings, and PIN (in hashed form) are all saved only in local storage on your device. This information:

Your PIN cannot be recovered. If you forget it, the only way back in is to delete and reinstall the app - which also erases every transaction, your budget, and all settings. Please choose a PIN you'll remember.

04 Location details

When "Use Location" is on, EZ Budget tags each transaction with where it happened, using your device's location services and Apple's system reverse-geocoding to turn coordinates into a readable address. This is used solely so you can see your spending on a map in the app - it is not sent anywhere by us.

05 Third-party services

EZ Budget does not integrate any third-party SDKs, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. The only outside processing that occurs is Apple's own system location and reverse-geocoding services, used solely to support the map feature described above. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first, describing exactly what's added and why.

06 Children's privacy

EZ Budget includes an optional PIN lock designed so a device can be handed to a child within a controlled budget without letting them change settings. Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal data from children, and no data collection occurs that would require parental consent under COPPA or similar regulations.

07 Data sharing and sale

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with anyone, because none is collected or transmitted in the first place.

08 Changes to this policy

If this policy changes - for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that uses data differently - we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above before the change takes effect.
